Basil joined Peregrine in 1997 and was made a director in 2001. He is responsible for managing a wide portfolio of business clients and has a particular interest in niche technology and internet companies. Basil's main strength lies in gaining an in-depth knowledge of his clients' business before transferring his commercial skills to them. He works with a large and varied client base and has specialist knowledge of tax planning and strategic advice with a well-honed ability to improve profit levels and introduce cost-saving schemes.
Basil attained a Commerce degree at the University of Stellenbosch and then later qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 after completing his training.
In his spare time, Basil enjoys travelling and is passionate about most sports, and as a South African, he is a very keen football, cricket and rugby supporter. He regularly plays golf and is a member of Ramsey Golf Club. Basil enjoys being active in the Isle of Man community; he is President of the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association and has also served as treasurer for several charities, associations and sports clubs.
